Thea
opera / theatre
THEA is a forthcoming experimental opera that explores the secret inner lives of a mother, her son, and his psychologist. Through a hallucinatory landscape of mistaken identities, auto-fiction, and ancient celestial myth, the piece moves through themes of memory, loss, and reclamation. Fractured timelines and surreal imagery unfold alongside a sonic palette that blurs genre and form.
At the center of the work is the figure of Thea—a forgotten Titaness who swallows a planet and becomes an untraceable force of maternal absence and psychic influence. Drawing from both myth and personal narrative, the opera questions how identity is shaped, inherited, and distorted through generational rupture.
